The Victorians are often credited with ushering in our current era, yet the seeds of change were planted in the years before. The Regency (1811-1820) began when the profligate Prince of Wales--the future king George IV--replaced his insane father, George III, as Britain's ruler.

Around the regent surged a society steeped in contrasts: evangelicalism and hedonism, elegance and brutality, exuberance and despair. The arts flourished at this time with a showcase of extraordinary writers and painters such as Jane Austen, Lord Byron, the Shelleys, John Constable, and J. M. W. Turner. Science burgeoned during this decade, too, giving us the steam locomotive and the blueprint for the modern computer.

Yet the dark side of the era was visible in poverty, slavery, pornography, opium, and the gothic imaginings that birthed the novel Frankenstein. With the British military in foreign lands, fighting the Napoleonic Wars in Europe and the War of 1812 in the United States, the desire for empire and an expanding colonial enterprise gained unstoppable momentum. Exploring these crosscurrents, Robert Morrison illuminates the profound ways this period shaped and indelibly marked the modern world.

I got this pickleball paddle set for my husband and I to try and learn how to play this new popular sport. My first impressions of the rackets are they have a nice, solid feel to them but without feeling heavy. So solid yet lightweight would be an accurate description I think. After playing several rounds with my husband the grip still felt comfortable. Oh and I like the sling bag that comes with it. The bag is big enough to hold all the pickleball essentials. I noticed when we were practicing that the rackets seem to be responsive and easy to control. The rackets are constructed of fiberglass and polypropylene and I have not noticed any issues with them so far everything is intact just like new. It also comes with a few balls to get started. I would compare them to whiffle balls as they are very similar in shape and size. I am happy with my purchase of this outdoor pickleball set. It is a good value for the price, and a good starting point for beginners.

Love them
Color: Sunrise
Love the color of these and they’re great quality. Got as a gift for my niece who had expressed interest in starting to play pickleball so really loved the design of this set. Thought they are very reasonably priced for the high build quality and she's commented on how lightweight the rackets are yet very strong. Think this is a great stater set and would recommend.

Good quality at a great price!
Color: Blue
The box included everything mentioned. The Paddle feel light, and has enough power to smash. The grip is very comfortable too. The included "outdoor balls" feel lighter than what I'm used to, but worked well on a windy day. Great for beginners. It would make an excellent gift for a novice or intermediate player.

This pickleball set is great for gifting, not too expensive but looks like nice quality. Good size, even for beginners.
