Deze single malt werd tijdens de International Wine & Spirits Competition in 2015 gekozen als winnaar van de zilveren medaille in de Outstanding-categorie. Caol Ila is de ultieme Islay-malt en wordt door experts gezien als het perfecte startpunt van turfachtige malt-whisky's en een referentiepunt voor kenners van Islay-single malt Scotch-whisky's overal ter wereld. Het best puur gedronken met een beetje water en/of ijs.
